A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today by the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
The importance of friendship and cooperation between the two legislatures and countries was reaffirmed after the visit by Hon. Dr Jiko Luveni, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji, to the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea in July 2016, followed by the visit of H.E. Hon Chung Sye-kyun, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, to Fiji in January 2017.
The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji shared the importance of friendship and cooperation between the two legislatures and countries, and have agreed on the need to further develop and strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two Parliaments.
The two Speakers of Parliament shared the view that enhancing parliamentary cooperation and exchange would contribute to deeper understanding and friendship between the two countries and their people.
