In a bid to promote sustainable and quality education in the country, the Fiji Parliament in collaboration with the UNDP will host the 4th Speakers Debate at Nadi’s Civic Centre tomorrow evening, from 5pm – 7pm.
And members of the public are being invited to be part of this event to listen or voice their opinions, queries or give their ideas about further improving the education system in Fiji.
The debate will feature the Minister for Health and Medical Services Hon. Rosy Akbar, who’s replacing the Minister for Education, Hon. Mahendra Reddy, National Federation Party Member of Parliament Hon. Professor Biman Prasad, National Training and Productivity Centre Acting Director Mr Peni Taoi, Fiji Teachers Union General-Secretary Mr Agni-Deo Singh, Chief Education, UNICEF Pacific Ms Niki Abrishamian and SVC Head Girl Ms Arieta Boseiwaqa as panellists.
The Speaker of Parliament Hon. Dr Jiko Luveni will also be present to moderate the debate.
Education is the key for development of any country and Fiji is committed to achieving the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG 4, which is committed to ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
