One of Fiji’s longest running insurance companies yesterday donated a $3000-cheque to Parliament to assist the institution with its preparations towards the forthcoming 25th Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) hosted by Fiji.
The annual event which is scheduled to be held in Nadi next month will see the participation of 27 Parliaments from across the Asia-Pacific region.
In receiving the cheque, Secretary-General to Parliament Viniana Namosimalua said she was very grateful to the company and its staff for their kind gesture.
“The kind donation will certainly further boost preparation works for the APPF,” she said.
“As the forum nears, so does the pressure for preparatory works and such a kind gesture comes as a great relief and help because it will assist in most areas.
“On behalf of the Speaker Hon. Dr Jiko Luveni, Parliament would like to heartily thank LICI for its generous donation.”
LICI Fiji Manager Finance, Investment and Human Resources, Anand Gurpreet Kaur said the company was delighted to assist Parliament and was looking forward to a more enhanced relationship in the near future.
Meanwhile, Pure Fiji also donated two cartons of its products to Parliament for the forum earlier today.

The forum’s proceedings addresses political, security, economic, social and cultural issues, thus furthering regional cooperation and building relationships between and among parliamentarians from the Asia-Pacific region.
The forum will be held from January 15th to 19th at the Natadola Intercontinental Resort and Spa.
